TOURNAMENT REFUND PROCESS

UltimatePoker.com strives to ensure that all games, including tournaments, function reliably and without compromise to the player. In the event that a tournament fails or suspends play, or general site issues impair players’ ability to participate effectively, UltimatePoker.com will attempt to restart and resume play. Should play not be resumed within 30 minutes or, in management’s opinion, not be resumable, the tournament will be cancelled and the refund rules below shall be applied.

  1. The tournament fails within 20 minutes of the start time, or general site issues, in the eyes of UP site management, impair player performance throughout the tournament:

All players registered in the tournament shall be refunded their full buy-in and fee and the tournament shall be considered cancelled.

  2. The tournament fails more than 20 minutes after start and not due to general site issues:

Remaining Players are ‘in the money’:

    • All remaining players receive the minimum prize that would have been awarded to the next player to bust out.
    • The remainder of the pot (net of prizes already paid out) is distributed to all players based on chip equity.
    • Each remaining player receives their tournament fee back.
    • Players who have been eliminated receive no refund.

For example, if you registered in a $30 + 3 tournament with a remaining prize pool of $30,000 (after places already awarded), and you are among 50 players remaining. The next prize to be awarded is $250 and the tournament fails – you have 48,200 chips, with a total number of chips of 1,500,000 in play. The payout would be calculated as follows:

    Remaining prize pool$30,000.00
$250 for each of the 50 players remaining$12,500.00
Amount remaining for chip equity disbursement$17,500.00

    Your payout:

Your share of remaining amount (48,200/1,500,000 X $17,500)$562.33
    Next prize payout$250.00
    Refund of tournament fee$3.00
    Total paid out$815.33

Remaining Players are not ‘in the money’:

    • All remaining players are returned their buy-in.
    • The remainder of the pot is distributed to all players based on chip equity.
    • Each remaining player receives their tournament fee back.
    • Players who have been eliminated receive no refund.

For example, if you registered in a $30 + 3 tournament with a total prize pool of $30,000, and you are among 150 players remaining when the tournament fails. The tournament has not reached the bubble yet - you have 30,000 chips, with a total number of chips of 1,500,000 in play. The payout would be calculated as follows:

    Total prize pool$30,000.00
$30 buy-in refund for each of the 150 players remaining$4,500.00
Amount remaining for chip equity disbursement$25,500.00

    Your payout:

Your share of remaining amount (30,000/1,500,000 X $25,500)$510.00
    Buy in refund$30.00
    Refund of tournament fee$3.00
    Total paid out$543.00

For tournaments that have ‘non cash’ prizes, such as World Series trips, the non cash prize will be converted to a cash value as indicated in the tournament description, and the payouts shall be made as if the prize pool was cash only.

In all cases, no player shall receive more than the value of the first place finish, and the total prize pool will always be distributed to players, either via refund or chip equity payouts.
